Patti Labelle’s Savory Salmon Steaks

Roseanne talked with diva Patti LaBelle about her new recipe book, "LaBelle Cuisine: Recipes To Sing About" and they cooked one of Patti’s favorite dishes. 4 8-to-10-oz salmon steaks
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp. olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp. chopped fresh basil or oregano, or a combination

Season the salmon with salt and pepper. Set aside. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the wine and lemon juice and bring to a simmer. Add the salmon and cover. Simmer until the salmon looks opaque when flaked with the tip of a knife, 12 to 15 minutes. Using a slotted spatula, transfer the salmon to a platter. Sprinkle with the chopped basil and serve immediately.
Serves 4.
